byI’ve been busy at the blog carnivals this week with all kinds of different posts. For example, my post about 15 Good Things That Have Come Out of the Bad Economy was included in the Recession Obsession blog carnival. And guess what? So was my post on hanging on to your cell phone to save money. This is basically a blog carnival of personal finance tips so my post was just one of many that were about the average person’s financial world.
Other topics covered by this economic blog carnival included:
- What to do if you get laid off and are dealing with unemployment, income problems and job issues
- Making money online with blogging and online marketing
- Saving money on food by not dining out and being smart about groceries
- Refinancing your home loans and using the home credit
- Ideas for selling your home with good advertising and avoiding foreclosure
- Dealing with credit cards and their fees appropriately
- Finance mistakes like wasting money in college
- Borrowing from your 401K in this economy
- Creating a long term savings plan by getting rid of your financial hidden leaks
- Potential fraud schemes like selling gold online
- Thoughts on renting to own
- Opinions on how the recession is psychological
- Various tax info such as info on refunds
- Information on money market accounts and mutual funds
- A few oddball topics like cosmetic surgery, iMafia, wine, coupon organizers, strawberries, the Snugglette and poker
Which one do you think is the best article in this particular money-focused blog carnival?

No, but I got my hackles up last night and I am still a bit over-sensitive I think. Forgive me.
I had a public internet hissy fit yesterday.
As a smart chick with a domain name and without ads tell me what you think of this. I would love your input.

I really would like your opinion, so feel free to delete this comment after you read it.
@NeighborNancy … I understand totally and am glad you dropped by to say anything. Will check out your link now and comment there.

In my own defense of the strawberry post…
If there is no money coming in, how can anyone feed their family.
Invest in a food garden and you will gain far higher yields than any bank or wall street can currently provide. Far more bang for your buck.
Every grand surge in the home garden business has coincided with dour economic times, Great depression, WWII victory gardens, the back to land movement in thee 70′s, and the edible landscaping movement that bubbled along with the internet bubble.
Are you familiar with the 1940′s book the “have more” plan. Check it out. It is still in publication.
What to do when your out of work, city, suburb, or country? Grow your own food. At least you’ll eat.
Oh well, perhaps a different title would have helped.
Thanks for including me.
@ Neighboy Nancy … I definitely agree with you. I wasn’t at all saying that your post shouldn’t have been part of the carnival. Hope it didn’t come across that way. There were just several posts in there that didn’t seem to fall neatly into the other categories that kind of naturally came up when organizing people’s posts. Good stuff.
