spring cleaning tips Spring Cleaning Thoughts

I love to spend time organizing and de-cluttering my house, getting rid of things and making sure things have their place in the home where I can easily find them. Many people consider this to be part of spring cleaning, that cleaning that is done at this time of year to make the home have that same fresh start that the earth is getting after winter.

Personally, I prefer to do my “spring cleaning” during winter itself. When it’s cold outside, I don’t want to be out there. I want to be hibernating in my home. And while I’m there, I want to be digging up the house and sorting through the mess so that once spring comes around, everything at home is in its place and I can comfortably spend more time outdoors since I know I’ll be coming home to a clean place.

Whether you do this kind of cleaning in winter or spring or at any time throughout the year, you can certainly benefit from considering some spring cleaning tips like the ones that I’ve written about over at HubPages. Tips on what to clean and how to clean it can really help you on your way to reducing the mess in your home.

This hub is part of the Weekly HubMob series which is where a bunch of different people on the site right about the same topic. The topic is Spring and I think that’s a great thing to read about. There are only two other posts up as of the writing of this blog (one on a cool spring festival in India and one on Spring flowers) but there should be many more in the days to come so check back!

moon goddess myths legends 204x300 Lunar Legends and Myths

I don’t spend a whole lot of time reading myths and legends. It’s just one of those areas of life that fascinates me but that I also put on the back burner and don’t research a lot. However, every time that I do research different mythological stories, I always find my interest in them renewed.

For example, I just wrote an article on ten moon myths and legends. These are stories about the gods and goddesses that are associated with the moon across different cultures. They are also stories about the men and women some people say live on the moon. And even stories about werewolves and other creatures said to come out when the moon is full.

The moon is a fascinating thing. Perhaps that is why it is the subject of so many different myths. It is symbolic of many powerful things in life including fertility and desire. For me, the moon represents the ebb and flow of life. It waxes and wanes. Things in life come and go. The moon reminds me that things will always come full circle again. So maybe eventually I’ll return again to my interest in mythology.

library perfume sexy Library Scented Perfume

Have you ever seen that old movie Threesome from the 1990′s? There are a few things that stand out in my memory about that movie, the most notable of which is the way that the girl in that movie got completely turned on by big words. She liked to have big words read to her in a sexy voice so she could get all hot and bothered. Now, that’s not everyone’s thing, but it’s something that comes to mind every now and then when I think of the romance of libraries and old books.

I wouldn’t say that I get turned on by old books. But they definitely conjure up something romantic. That smell of browsing through a bookstore just brings so many stories into your mind, stories about the people who have been in that bookstore before you and the books that they read and the passions that they explored in their lives.

A lot of people feel this way which is probably why there is a library-scented perfume on the market. Again, not for everyone, but certainly for some people. Don’t you think?
