I recently purchased a mini mushroom farm from a mushroom store located inside of the Ferry Building here in San Francisco. It’s a block of natural material (dirt and I’m not sure what else) what you keep in a big and water until it grows mushrooms. I can’t grow too many things but I was successful at growing these:

I love playing around with the close-up feature on my camera. And I love using it to get detailed images of flowers like this purple one that I saw when wandering around San Francisco:

I love checking out antique stores and thrift stores. I don’t usually end up buying anything (unless they have vintage postcards which I adore) but I did make a great antique store purchase recently. I found this colorful set of glasses and a pitcher for just $15. Yay!

I take a lot of photos of flowers. That’s because I really enjoy having cut flowers in my home and I usually take pictures when I get new ones for the house. Most of the flowers that I put up around the house are put into old wine bottles for display. However, there’s always one flower that goes into the bathroom. Here’s an example:

Last summer I was at an antique store when I came across a bunch of these Gibson girl vases. This one was inexpensive and I adored it so I bought it for my bathroom. I love to put a flower in the girl’s hair.

If you’re wondering what that is, it’s a yogurt-covered cranberry. I was eating my lunch one day and I had a handful of these. I looked down at my hand and spotted this one. Doesn’t it look exactly like a strange sad face?

I’m hoping to get more adept at using different photo imaging software to really improve pictures like these but for now I’m content to share the silly strangeness here.
