This was one of the first things that I ever sewed together. It’s a beach towel that was converted into a tote bag. I actually did quite a poor job since I didn’t have the right tools to cut it and sew it properly. However, I was quite proud of this project at the time. And in the end, it turned out that I really liked this particular picture I took of it hanging on a door.
I love the buildings in San Francisco that sit on a corner and so are shaped in a funny rounded traingular way.

Yesterday’s photo was of the big cross on Mt. Davidson. What I didn’t mention was that the cross is in the middle of a eucalyptus grove. So pretty:

When I learned that there’s a peak in San Francisco where a huge concrete cross towers over the city, I had to go check it out. It’s not that I’m particularly interested in the cross itself but was curious about how I’d never heard it existed. It’s on Mt. Davidson … interesting place.

Sutro Tower is a sight to be seen. It’s impossible to ignore this structure that towers above the city of San Francisco, peeking it’s head above the fog even when there’s nothing else to be seen through the mist. What I love about this picture is that the perspective of it miniaturizes this towering creature and focuses instead on the tree in the forefront. What do you think of this one?

The majority of the photos that I post here daily are photos that I have taken myself. That’s because the point, for me, is to start getting in the habit of taking pictures on a daily basis and to get comfortable sharing those pictures with others. It’s also good because it forces me to look closer at my photography and to get better at it which is something I want to do.
However, today’s picture was actually taken by a photographer who is much more talented than me. It’s a photo of me that she took back in March as part of a project called I Live Here: SF. I wanted to put the photo up here because I think it’s a really great portrait photography project and I would love to see others check it out. The photographer is TangoBaby.

This is an old photo that I took of someone’s legs/feet at a bar where I was attending an event. This is the first photo that I’ve posted here that I edited in any way. That’s because I’m just starting to play around with editing for the first time. The original photo was too dark to see anything so I altered the brightness and contrast and then played around with the levels in Resizr. Not very advanced, I know, but it’s a start. I’m taking a photoshop class next week so I can learn more.

This is a photo that I took the last time that I was back home. The dog on the left is one of my two dogs that stayed behind with my parents when I moved from Arizona. The other is my brother’s dog that ended up living with them when he moved. As you can see, they’ve taken over the house.
I always get green eyes from the dogs (like this) when I take pictures of them. Is there any way to avoid that? I know I can fix it with a photo editor but I’m wondering if I can stop it from happening all together.
