I am back to work after a brief vacation. The sad news was that I didn’t get to go on the camping trip that was planned which kidn of bummed me out. The good news is that I got to spend time at home doing some of the projects that I’ve wanted to get done. I also got to head out to the beach with my sister. It was cold and windy so it wasn’t an idyllic beach day but we still had a good time.

I live fairly close to Coit Tower in San Francisco. It’s a tough hike up a steep hill to get up there but once you do get there, you get a great view of the city. You also get to see a statue of Christopher Columbus although I have no idea why they decided to put a statue of him up there. I love the way he’s juxtaposed with the tower in this photo.

There is a Flower Mart in San Francisco. It’s a series of stores inside of warehouses where you can go to buy flowers as a wholesaler. You can also go if you’re not a wholesaler and I had a nice time wandering around there recently to soak in the scent and sight of different flowers.

Today’s picture is an example of the kind of picture that I’d like to learn to manipulate with a photo editing program. I like the basic setup of the picture and the quality of it isn’t bad but I’d like to play around more with different light and color options. I really need to get on top of learning this stuff!

i was taking pictures of a sunflower that I’d placed in a wine glass on my window will. Some of the pictures came out great but the camera was acting funny. It kept taking a second photo immediately after the photo that I intended to take. The result was a couple of really cool photos that I never would’ve been able to take intentionally!

Today’s photo is one that I took while waiting for BART. It’s at the MacArthur Station which is one of the few BART stops that I wait at which is actually above ground. I often take photos of the Berkeley Hills from here while waiting for the train but thought that the station itself made an even better subject this time.
