chocolate healthy 300x300 Chocolate is Healthy for You

I remember reading teen magazines when I was a tween (although the word tween hadn’t been invented yet) and being warned by them not to eat chocolate as I got older because it was going to be bad for my skin. I didn’t really listen to that advice much because I happen to love chocolate.

I used to love all different kinds of chocolate. I loved Hershey’s bars and Milky Ways and Kit Kats. I still kind of love Kit Kats but my chocolate tastes have changed since moving to San Francisco. There are so many great San Francisco chocolate shops where you can get such high-quality delicious chocolate that I have to admit I’m no longer much of the fan of the Hershey bar.

Although I was warned away from chocolate by those teen magazines, everything I’ve read as an adult suggests that chocolate is healthy for you if you eat it in moderation and you eat the right kinds (typically dark chocolate which is fine with me). Chocolate is reported to possibly be good for circulation, brain stimulation and prevention of cough among other things.

And you know what? Chocolate makes me feel good. I start every morning with a tiny bite of something sweet – a few chocolate chips or a bite of chocolate chip cookie dough. For me, this symbolizes that the day has started off right and no matter what else happens, I’ve had those few moments of pure indulgence. I think that makes chocolate a healthy thing in my life!

transbay phallic san francisco Phallic Structures in San Francisco

One of the most popular posts on my blog San Francisco is Sexy is a post that I did highlighting seven different phallic structures in the city. It’s just a fun travel post that takes a look at some of the buildings and bridges in San Francisco and shows how they could be construed as phallic symbols if one were interested in looking at them in that way.

Today on the blog there are two other posts that relate to this one. The first is an archive image from San Francisco’s past which shows the erection of the Transamerica Pyramid which is listed in my original post as one of the top seven phallic structures in San Francisco. This historic photo shows what the building looked like as it was going up.

The second post on the blog today isn’t about San Francisco history at all but rather about San Francisco’s architectural future. It’s about the design for the Transbay Station which now likely isn’t going to be built because of design flaws. it would’ve been a new phallic structure in the city if it went up but it looks like it’s staying flaccid.

sexy san francisco travel 300x189 Smart Travel Writing About Sexy San Francisco

I love sharing information about San Francisco with people who have never been here. That’s why I was excited to get asked to do a guest post for Travelogged, a cool blog that’s great for people interested in worldwide travel. The author of the blog has a witty voice and it was great to get a chance to chime in there with my own thoughts.

Of course, since I do have a blog called San Francisco is Sexy, it’s not too much of a surprise that my guest post focused on the sexiest things to do in this city. It’s hard to narrow down something like that since there are so many different sexy events and places in San Francisco.

What I did here was I tried to focus on the ten sexiest things about San Francisco that would appeal to someone who was just visiting here for a short time. By focusing on different types of trips (neighborhood explorations, for example) and broad activities (like the breadth of sexy classes there are here), I think I was able to offer a new visitor many different options for seeing the sexy side of the city without scaring anyone off with our sometimes-too-liberal attitude.

I believe that it’s really important to remember who your audience is when you’re doing any kind of travel writing. If you’re writing for “insiders” then you can skip a lot of the background stuff and you don’t have to water things down. However, if you’re writing for a wider audience then you need to provide insider tips in a way that a general audience can easily swallow. That’s particularly true when witing about a place as different from everywhere else as San Francisco is!

woman painting sexy san francisco 227x300 San Franciscos Creative Scene

There are dozens, maybe hundreds, of things that I love about living in San Francisco. It’s hard to say what I like “best” about the city. But I definitely know that one of the things that I really treasure about living here is the fact that I am surrounded by really creative people.

San Francisco is anything but a boring place and the people who live here are the opposite of dull. People here live fully. They create regularly. They embody self-expression in everything from the way that they dress to the events that they attend to the discussions they have over brunch in the Castro.

And many, many, many of them work either full-time or part-time in creative careers and hobbies. Often, this is linked with the DIY movement. For example, there are tons of San Francisco based artists on Etsy, the site where you can sell your DIY crafts of all kinds in really cool little storefronts online.

I feel lucky to live in a place where creativity is valued by so many people. It is my belief that the creative lifestyle is the only one really worth living. However, living it can be hard sometimes because of the pressures of real life. Living in San Francisco, where there is so much support for creativity, makes it so much easier to stay on that path.

twin peaks san francisco 300x155 San Franciscos Naughtiest Features and Creative Energy

One of the things that I love most about San Francisco is that there is this edge of sexuality in the air everywhere here. It’s not about the sex so much as about the energy. People who study chakras will tell you that sexual energy and creative energy derive from the same place in the body.

And people who study art and creativity will also tell you about this connection because a lot of artists make the mistake of channeling their creative energy into sexuality and then losing their strongest ability to create. What’s great in San Francisco is that you can harness this energy all around you and gain inspiration from it in order to be more creative in your life. Perhaps that’s why there is so much creative energy here.

Just a look at the skyline of the city itself reveals a kind of sexual energy if you’re paying attention. That’s why I was able to come up with fourteen different features or structures in San Francisco that either look like phallic images or resemble a woman’s curves. This city is a beautiful city filled with all sorts of amazing architecture but there’s also something sexy about the shape of that skyline. As I creative person, I love living in such a sexy city!

bizcard 300x171 Whats Sexy in San Francisco in March

One of my very favorite topics to write about is San Francisco. I have written for numerous San Francisco travel blogs. I have contributed restaurant review guides to a book about dining like a local in San Francisco. I have authored a couple of books on the ghosts that haunt this city. And I keep a regular blog called San Francisco is Sexy which is about everything sexy that I see around me in this city where I live.

San Francisco is the sexiest city that I’ve ever experienced. I’m convinced that it’s the sexiest city in the United States. And although I’m interested in visiting other sexy cities (Paris, Buenos Aires), I believe that San Francisco is a city on a very short list of sexy cities around the world. So I like to explore the sexy side of things in San Francisco and point others in the direction of San Francisco’s sexiest stuff.

There are tons of sexy things happening in San Francisco this month and that blog is updated daily with different information about that. But to get started with adding sexy things to a San Francisco calendar for this month, you can check out the two most recent posts from that blog: Sexiest March Events and March Classes / Events at Good Vibes.
